I partnered with Sola for this post. As always, thoughts are honest and my own.
It’s hard to beat a freshly toasted, fluffy, chewy bagel. It’s quick, filling, and hits the spot on those hectic weekday mornings or early soccer game Saturdays when nobody has time and everyone’s asking where their water bottle went.
I’ve been on the hunt for a better-for-you option. Something that feels a little more balanced, adds some protein, and doesn’t taste like cardboard (because we’ve all been burned before). Enter: Sola Bagels.

They just dropped a new Cinnamon & Raisin flavor at HEB, which means there are now four kinds to choose from—because plain is great, but variety is what keeps the breakfast rotation alive. And somehow, Sola has managed to do the impossible: make a bagel that is better for you and still tastes really good.
Fun fact: These bagels have a fan club. So many people are going back for more that Instacart named Sola one of 2024’s Top 75 Fastest Growing Emerging Brands.
Bagel Math (But the Fun Kind)
Sola stands out on the bread aisle in a few key ways. First off: no GMOs, artificial flavors, dyes, or preservatives. Just the stuff you actually want to feed your family.
Second—check out these stats:
Sola Bagels | Leading Bagel Brand* | |
Net Carbs | 4-6g | 48g |
Protein | 14-15g | 10g |
Added Sugars | 0g | 5g |
Fiber | 29-30g | 4g |
Calories | 110-140 | 290 |
*Compared against the leading brand’s Everything Bagel
They’re the clear winner in all the important ways. If you’re on the keto diet, finally, you have a bagel that you can enjoy without sacrificing your goals. If you’re trying the Paleo lifestyle, Sola bagels fit right in as well.
Flavors to Try

Sola’s newest flavor just arrived at HEB. It’s a classic combo of cinnamon and raisins. Mildly sweet, soft, and chewy.
Try it with: honey cream cheese, strawberry cream cheese, or HEB’s whipped mixed-berry cream cheese.
A solid choice if you’re into fruity bagels. These have a noticeable blueberry flavor without tasting artificial or dry.
Try it with: plain cream cheese or blueberry cream cheese to keep it simple.
The most versatile of the bunch. Works well with both sweet and savory toppings and doesn’t get in the way of whatever you put on it.
Try it with: butter, jam, nut butters, or a hazelnut spread if you're going sweet.
Loaded with the usual everything bagel mix: onion, garlic, seeds, salt. Great for building a breakfast sandwich or using as a base for lunch.
Try it with: eggs, turkey sausage, cheese, deli meat, or smoked salmon with cream cheese.
Check out Sola’s store finder to find Sola’s bagels at an HEB near you.
Even though Sola’s bagels are preservative-free, they’ll stay fresh for 45 days. Or, grab a few bags and freeze them for up to a year.
