HEB Limited Edition Items To Watch For

HEB grocery has an ever-growing list of limited edition items they debut each season that you don't want to miss. Here's what to look for.

Next time you're at the store, you may want to check and see if HEB has any limited edition products. But where to look? I'm going to break down the most common seasonal items to check for while you're shopping. If you're too busy to browse, another option is to follow my Instagram, Facebook, or blog, as I'm frequently posting about new HEB finds (shameless plug acknowledged).

Many of these products are made in small batches and tend to sell out quickly, so always take the opportunity to grab 'em up when you see them.

There are 7 main types of rotating limited edition items you should check for: dish soap, bacon, chips, sodas, trail mix, ice cream and sausage.

Here's what has debuted in 2021, so far:

Limited Edition Dish Soap

HEB regularly puts out limited edition dish soap scents, and they're always super fun flavors. They actually have two brands that do this too, HEB brand and Mi Tienda, so you can often find something new.

In 2021, HEB has debuted the following limited edition dish soap scents:

• WINTER: Holiday Cheer, Peppermint Bark, Home for the Holidays

• SPRING: Lemongrass Garden, Pink Oasis, Jasmine Breeze

• SUMMER: Creamy Creations Line: Peaches & Homemade Vanilla, Pineapple Sherbet, Lemon Cookie

• SPECIAL FIESTA SCENT: Flowers of Fiesta

• PRE-FALL: Apple Harvest, Wine Harvest, Pumpkin Harvest

Small Batch Bacon

The HEB small batch bacon is the stuff of legends. People get so pumped up about it, and occasionally it's hard to find. My store, HEB Plus Leander, always seems to get the turkey bacon flavor first, and later we get the regular small batch flavor in stock. So if you can't find it, check other stores in your area or wait a few weeks and it might appear.

In 2021, HEB has debuted the following small batch bacon flavors:

• DEC/JAN: Lumberjack - maple & black pepper

• FEBRUARY: Campfire - smoky, tangy flavor with a little touch of heat

• MARCH: Chop House - black pepper, red pepper, garlic and onion

• JULY: Hatch Chile - mildly seasoned with hatch green chile

Limited Edition Chips

I'm counting chips, puffs and popcorn under this category, but this year HEB has had the most variety with puff flavors. They've created some really unique ones and I've been loving it.

In 2021, HEB has debuted the following limited edition chip flavors:

• JANUARY: Honey Flavored Cheese Puffs - oh my god, these were so good

• JUNE: Creamy Dill Cheese Puffs

• JULY: Central Market Hatch Cheddar Popcorn

Limited Edition Sodas

HEB has their usual store-brand sodas like the Big Red replica, "Wild Red", but they also have seasonal soda flavors that are definitely worth trying. My husband and step-dad both especially love the Sangria soda that comes out every Spring/Summer. By the time it leaves in the fall, there's great disappointment in my house.

In 2021, HEB has debuted the following limited edition soda flavors:

• FEBRUARY: Sangria, Strawberry Bliss

Shockingly, that's all this year so far, but I'm betting a fall soda lineup is coming soon. In previous years we've seen flavors like: watermelon slice, apricot tart, just peachy, apple crisp, pumpkin creme, maple creme and candy cane.

Limited Edition Trail Mix

The trail mix flavors can be really fun and fascinating. There are so many options already, you kind of have to scan the section to pick out the limited edition variety, but it's worth a peek.

In 2021, HEB has debuted the following limited edition trail mixes:

• WINTER 2020/2021: Spiced Apple Cider

• JUNE: Dill Pickle

• JULY: Ballpark

Limited Edition Ice Cream

HEB occasionally debuts new Swoon flavors, but the limited edition options are exclusive to their Creamy Creations brand. It's worth noting that Blue Bell also frequently debuts seasonal flavors so you might as well take a gander at the whole section while you're in this aisle.

In 2021, HEB debuted the following limited edition ice cream flavors:

• JANUARY: Spurs Sherbet (strawberry, orange and blue raspberry)

• FEBRUARY: Chocolate Covered Strawberry, Banana Peanut Butter, Grasshopper

• JUNE: Caramel Apple a la Mode, Midnight Cookie Dough, Strawberry Lemonade

Limited Edition Sausage

Another fun one is HEB's Limited Edition Sausage. Flavors like Bourbon Barrel and Jalapeño Popper will keep you coming back for more. I highly recommend giving these a try! We pop them in the air fryer.
